The 2012 Legislative Session begins on February 8th
and ends on May 9th.

In accordance with its mission and goals, its 2011 Platform for Reform, and in conjunction with other self/family advocacy groups, The Arc Connecticut will seek funding and legislation to provide necessary supports in a paradigm that puts people first, advances opportunities, and ensures justice for Connecticut’s children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Connecticut policy makers are encouraged to support changes that protect and enhance services for individuals and families, reduce waiting lists, ensure that the services provided by public employees are as valuable and efficient as possible and adequately fund the private sector so that it can responsibly serve both its consumers and its staff, all while ensuring the long term sustainability of services in Connecticut.
