 2023 Legislative Priorities

  • Increase the states inventory of affordable housing in connecticut to both decrease the residential waiting list for persons with disabilities and to place them at less risk of homelessness;

  • Increase access to healthcare practioners, durable medical equipment, repair of wheelchairs including insurance reimbursement and support legislation that creates health equity;

  • Support legislation that prohibits step therapy practices in Connecticut. To ensure that patients, especially patients with IDD (Intellectual Developmental Disabilities), receive the drugs that they are prescribes by their health care providers;

  • Increase employment opportunities and wages for persons with disabilities;

  • Support legislation that increases funding for nonprofit providers of health and human services;

  • Support accessible transportation for persons with disabilities including increasing transportation options in Connecticut’s transportation deserts.
