Understanding ABLE Accounts - Manchester

For People with Disabilities and Families Who Have Questions About ABLE and are Interested in Opening an Account.

Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) accounts allow people with disabilities to set aside up to $15,000 a year or more in tax-free savings accounts without affecting their eligibility for government benefits. But many people are unsure about how to apply for ABLE accounts or how they can be used.

Participants will receive an overview on ABLE accounts and on several of the plans that are available in Connecticut. We will then we will walk you through the ABLE account opening process and answer any questions you may have.  Computers will be available, so everyone who wishes to will have the option to leave with an open ABLE account!

Presenter: Andrew Komarow

From his personal experience as an individual with ASD, he was inspired to created Planning Across the Spectrum to specifically work with indi-viduals, families, and care teams of those with special needs. Andrew is a known local advocate for Autism awareness and serves on the board of the Autism Resources and Services CT. Andrew is CFP®, Behavioral Financial Advisor (BFA™), and Chartered Special Needs Con-sultant (ChSNC®) among his other designations.
